Spider Spray

As the winter slowly draws in, the cold weather makes our 8-legged friends seek shelter and move inside. Some people don’t like spiders and some people do, some people don’t mind them as house guests and some people very much mind. This little blog will show you how to create the perfect spray to keep them at bay without causing them any harm!

Many insects can be repelled by essential oils and strong scents, spiders especially! Citrus and menthol oils are often best to get rid of unwanted visitors as well as tea tree or clove. The bonus of using these oils is also keeping your home smelling great!

This recipe is not one of my own, but borrowed from Laura in the Natural Pamperer office, but she has not seen a spider since…

Ingredients:

  • Tea Tree Lemon Scented Essential Oil

  • Peppermint Essential Oil

  • Water

  • Spray bottle

Fill the bottle with water and simply add a few drops of both essential oils to your desired strength and shake very well. As we all know oil and water don’t mix so you will need to shake well before every use.

Now the spray is ready to use you can spray around your home, pay close attention to areas around windows, doors and skirting boards as this is where they are likely to come in, top this up on a weekly basis and your home should stay a spider free zone.
