Home Made Beard Oil

As we, The Natural Pamperer and Mystic Moments are supporting Movember for the month of November what better blog to write than a beard oil!

Mystic Moments are encouraging the male staff to grow a moustache for the month of November as part of their charity campaign, at the end of the month the best wins a prize! All money raised goes to Movember, a charity that helps to raise awareness of men’s health issues, including prostate and testicular cancer and mental health issues. The boys were all keen to support this charity and have a little friendly competition!

Facial hair and beards has become a very popular fashion statement amongst men recently and this has increased the need for oils and shampoos to keep them healthy, shiny and encourage growth. Much like our hair there are many oils that are good for facial hair, our blog on making a hair mask goes through many types of oils you can use to create your beard oil.

I would highly recommend using Coconut Virgin and Macadamia Nut oil.  They make a great base oil, then we need to add some essential oils – I have gone for Cedarwood and Frankincense. They are both good scents for men but they also have their own benefits. Cedarwood can help reduce skin irritations, relieves stress and helps to promote hair growth – helping them grow nice and bushy! Frankincense also helps to relieve stress and anxiety and helps towards premature hair loss.

Now we can make our oil!

You will need the following

  • 50ml Coconut Virgin Oil

  • 50ml Macadamia Oil

  • 2ml Cedarwood Himalayan Oil

  • 1ml Frankincense Oil

  • 125ml Plastic Bottle & Cap

This oil is very simple to make, simply add all the ingredients to the bottle and shake well! It is now ready to use.

All you need to do is rub a small amount of the oil into your beard after showering every day. Not having a beard myself I haven’t been able to try this out but my brother has been testing this out for me and he thinks it’s wonderful!
